I would use paramilitary squadristi to dominate the streets and prevent any opposition from organizing or taking to the streets. I would make sure there were dozens or hundreds of fights and violent incidents. I would blame the opposition for everything.

I would use private investigators and intelligence operatives to gain kompromat on all legislators and blackmail them into either obedience or at least silence and complicity.

I would denounce the opposition for causing chaos and violence and then declare a temporary national state of emergency to resolve the crisis. I would promote the idea that society is about to collapse and that there will be chaos in the streets and children will starve to death unless people follow me because only I have the vision and determination to save the nation.

I would make the judiciary completely dependent upon, and beholden to, me.

I would control the flow of information by having the FCC revoke the operating licenses for the corporate media news networks. I would establish a state press.

I would establish a National Reorganization Council.

I would have already founded a political party based around my ideas and my person. The party would provide the main leaders for the National Reorganization Council.

I would make sure the party was able to take control of large sectors of the economy.

I would mandate that all teachers and professors must be party members in good standing.

I would establish a national police force answerable only to me.

I would establish a national secret police force and give them all authority befitting a domestic intelligence agency including the authority to indefinitely detain people without due process.

I would make myself the court of last resort.

I would keep the legislature intact in form to maintain the facade of a representative republic but gut them in substance. The legislature would not have the power to introduce or block legislation and I would effectively legislate by decree.

I would task the state press with cultivating a cult of mystery around me such that I was considered the unknowable and unapproachable leader. I would be the man in a tower watching events from almost behind the scene. I would simply be the “fatherly guide of the national reorganization” and the “national conductor.”

I would have the legislature pass legislation making me Chief Director of the National Reorganization Council for ten years and then later for life.

I would have the legislature pass legislation giving me the power to issue writs of attainder. The legislature would also give me the power to issue lists of proscription.

I would avoid major social issues that might provoke an uprising.

I would eventually have the secret police organize and stage an uprising to draw out genuine rebels to rally to the cause so they could be openly crushed once they exposed themselves. I would use the uprising as further proof of the need for my dictatorship to continue and for me to be granted more emergency powers.

I am effectively a dictator.

The KKK is a racist organization. If they stopped being racist they would stop being the KKK and would no longer have a reason to exist.

What would they do? Become a social club? There are plenty of actual social clubs to join that don't have the history and baggage the KKK has.
