The 3.8.x v-bulletin forums are at the end of their line

Last night this Christian Nationalist forum was down because of database errors because main ISP, Dreamhost, upgraded the PHP of all forums, blogs and web pages on those of its customers from PHP 5.3 and PHP 5.4. As a result until I was able to set the PHP version back to PHP 5.3, the forum was down last night and this morning.
Now I can buy another v-bulletin license for v-bulletin 5.2.x for $249 and get v-bulletin 4.x.x and v-bulletin 3.9.x which will work with PHP 5.6+. But I do not want to spend that much money, preferring to use a cheaper or free open-source bulletin board forum software like phpbb or simplemachines or MyBB.
So this forum shall migrate to another ISP which allows PHP 5.3 until such time as it becomes necessary to transfer from v-bulletin to other forum software.
